Pangcah Organic Farm: Amis Foraged Crop Cuisine
With the lunar Qixi Valentine's Day just around the corner after the start of autumn, the Water Garden Organic Market will hold a distinctive market event on August 10 (Saturday). Besides each farm bringing organic seasonal dishes, visitors can also enjoy a demonstration of Valentine's Day market picnic cuisine amid the Amis love songs!
Among the farms at the market is Pangcah Organic Farm, founded jointly by fourteen women of the Amis people from Hualien. This week it will specially bring the distinctive indigenous seasonal foraged crops Momordica cochinchinensis leaves and Gynura bicolor (purple-backed vegetable), give a cooking demonstration and sharing, and play many wonderful, soulful love songs of the tribe on site.
Teacher Huang Ruhui of the Department of Restaurant and Institutional Management at the renowned culinary school Shih Chien University will also send three of her students to the market to join in, offering a demonstration and sharing activity on organic fruit and vegetable salad cuisine for the start-of-autumn seasonal Valentine's Day. All interested members of the public are welcome to take part.

About the Water Garden Organic Farmers' Market
This is the story of a group of farmers who are changing Taiwan through nature-friendly farming that treats the land with kindness. And the end of the NTU Organic Farmers' Market is the beginning of this story. When the only organic farmers' market in Taipei closed, it meant that a community connecting land, ecology, farmers, and the dining table would brew a deeper force. The farmers stood up on their own strength and, at the Water Garden in the NTU Gongguan commercial district, rebuilt a distinctive new organic cultural market.
To promote healthy, organic concepts, the market's outreach volunteers also frequently hold a series of events at irregular times, including the Water Garden Organic Fiber Food Carnival, water resource and environmental education and parent-child lectures, small farmer story-sharing lectures, and artistic performances such as ecological dance combining ecology and dance.
