[Big Island Taiwan 800 Houses-007 House]-Hand-made bamboo paper Zhiliaowo

Liao is a place of work, a place of livelihood...

Zhiliaowo is a place where paper is made...

Wo is a place where people gather and live, and it is also the Hakka term for a valley

Put together, the three characters "Zhiliaowo" mean a place where paper is made and a valley where people gather and live. This is rather rare? Curiosity also drove me to pay a visit. Zhiliaowo is located in Qiongzhu, Hsinchu. After getting off at the Qionglin Interchange on National Highway 3, I turned at two traffic lights, thinking it was very close, but unexpectedly I could not find the way in. After driving around, I finally saw this small alley. Fortunately, there was an archway of Sanwu Temple to look for. After entering, I kept driving forward with doubt, and the winding road was quite interesting. Soon Zhiliaowo was right in front of me. It was indeed a settlement in a valley, and Liren was already there smiling to welcome our arrival.

Paper is closely tied to our daily lives. Even though things are electronic now, the paper we use and come into contact with in life has only increased, because the warmth and texture paper can present cannot be replaced by electronic products. A trip to Zhiliaowo makes one cherish one's feelings for paper even more. The use of joss paper has decreased with the promotion of carbon-reduction policies, and its meaning has gradually been taken less seriously as times change, but joss paper has already been a custom and culture passed down in Taiwan, China for 4 to 5 hundred years. It has become an indispensable element in the everyday life of the people of Taiwan, China, and it has even developed its own local characteristics there. Although I agree with carbon-reduction policies, the philosophy of life represented by joss paper, as well as the meaning of the totems on joss paper, should all be passed down and preserved.
