Consumer prepayments support farmers in rebuilding, pre-order the next harvest
To help disaster-hit farming friends resume cultivation, the friendly agricultural product sales platform "Green Farmers' Home" launched the "Rainbow Fruit and Vegetable Recovery Plan," in which consumers pay an order deposit in advance and the deposit is put into recovery work, helping farming friends restore production as quickly as possible.
"A 1,000-yuan fruit and vegetable box will be sent every week!" explained Chen Guan-jie, manager of Green Farmers' Home. Every 1,000 yuan in deposit a consumer pays, once the farming friends have resumed cultivation and two to three months later, when there is a harvest, the consumer will receive a box of pesticide-free fruits and vegetables of equal value. "This is equivalent to buying agricultural products from farmers in advance."
Chen Guan-jie said that the recent wind disasters caused the heaviest losses to guavas, papayas and bananas, and lemon trees were also largely damaged, but government subsidy funds cannot be allocated that quickly, so the "Rainbow Fruit and Vegetable Recovery Plan" was launched, providing deposits to the ten farming friends who suffered the most severe damage, helping the farming friends most short of cash restore production as quickly as possible.

Zheng Jin-fu: I'm doing all right, let other farming friends use it first
"Typhoons came one after another, and the guava trees have already been blown down and propped back up three times." Farming friend Zheng Jin-fu, who mainly grows guavas, said that after three bouts of lodging, the fruit trees' root systems were severely damaged, and it may take more time for the trees to return to normal. "The fruit trees will probably have to wait until the end of this year to recover, and if we want to harvest, we'll probably have to wait until February next year."
Although Zheng Jin-fu was originally also on the deposit assistance list, "I have already worked with friends to prop the fruit trees back up, so if other farming friends need this money more, let them use it first." Zheng Jin-fu said that all he can do now is "wait" - wait for the fruit trees to repair their root systems and send out branches on their own, and then production can quickly recover.
Consumers: Lend a hand, do your part
Chen Guan-jie explained that because crops such as guavas, papayas and bananas need a relatively long recovery period, the pesticide-free fruits and vegetables in the boxes will first be supplied through cooperation with other farming friends of Green Farmers' Home, and after the severely damaged farming friends have resumed cultivation, they will slowly pay back agricultural products equal in value to the deposits.
"If there's difficulty, lend a hand!" Brother Wu, a long-term subscriber to the fruit and vegetable boxes, volunteered to join the "Rainbow Fruit and Vegetable Recovery Plan," providing a deposit to help farming friends restore production. Brother Wu said that once a wind disaster has passed, these farming friends all need time to restore their farmland environment. As an urban consumer, since he cannot take part in friendly farming production, at least providing some deposit to support the farming friends' recovery counts as doing his part.
Since the campaign was launched on September 29, Chen Guan-jie's preliminary estimate is that about 200,000 yuan in deposits has been received so far. "After production is restored, the fruit and vegetable boxes will be sent out as soon as possible!"
