Flowers appear in Nanao on December 29, experience the new organic style

During the fallow period on its organic farmland, Nan'ao Letian planted up to 70 hectares of cosmos, sunflowers and zinnias, which will bloom from 2012/12/15 to 2013/1, and will also provide natural green manure for next year's officially organic Pastor's Rice.

On December 29, 2012 (Saturday), people from everywhere are invited to come together to Nan'ao Letian for the opening event of the Flower Sea Carnival. That day there will be specialty dishes made by community mothers using local ingredients, indigenous dancing, folk dance performances, and a 4-part chorus by the Yilan Line Pastoral Family.

Friends who love photography are welcome to join the "Nan'ao Letian Joyful Tour Photography Competition." The top three winners can receive a cash prize of up to 5,000 yuan, free accommodation at Youji No. 11 (a homestay converted from a local farmhouse), and Pastor's Rice. The Flower Sea Carnival is now in its third year, and this was also the starting point of Nan'ao Letian. It began because the pastor saw that the abandoned farmland was such a pity, and thought that rather than letting it lie abandoned, it would be better to turn the farmland into a garden. With just this idea, the pastor first gathered everyone to explain, then communicated with the elderly farmers one by one, and signed consent forms one by one, and only then held the first flower sea event.
Because of this event, all of Danan'ao had the chance to gather together joyfully, and the elderly farmers also felt the pastor's dedication and sincerity, which is why the idea and consensus later emerged of wanting to jointly establish an organic village. So every year, holding the Flower Sea Carnival lets us once again revisit the intention of jointly protecting our homeland.
