Farmer and chef sell produce boxes, with annual sales of 75 million US dollars
One farmer, one chef, one produce box plus one recipe sparked an organic wave that swept across all of Denmark, and also marked the beginning of the financial industry pouring investment into agriculture.
Annette Hartvig Larsen, CEO of the Danish farming company Aarstiderne, was recently invited to Taiwan to share how Aarstiderne has used an e-commerce platform model to put "community supported agriculture" (CSA) into practice, and to attract cross-sector investment from Triodos Bank, which holds sustainability ideals, so that together they can exert greater influence.
The sharing economy summit forum organized on 9/1 by the Danish Trade Office, the CCS Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Training Center and the CSRone sustainability reporting platform could be described as the first ice-breaking event in the country to link friendly agriculture with the financial industry. Chen Meng-kai, head of the Hopo Agricultural Market who moderated the panel discussion, pointed out, "The example of Aarstiderne shows that green, friendly agriculture can also be a good investment target."
The day before the forum, NewsMarket interviewed Ms. Larsen, along with Zhu Zhu-yuan, chairman of co-organizer PwC Sustainability Development Services, to put forward suggestions and development directions that Taiwan's agriculture and financial industries can draw on for cooperation.
