Introduction to the Freshwater Return-to-Farming Collective Workshop Activity
Why return to farming? Many people may never consider it an option, but anyone who has actually come into contact with the land is moved by the act of farming. Yet although farming looks simple, once you want to make it a profession, many problems arise, such as: what to grow? How to grow it? How to sell it? How to earn enough to cover living expenses? Many people back off because of this.
This workshop is a long-term rolling group that will keep offering courses. It will provide a place for learning and discussion for people who are willing to get closer to the land, or who are willing to return to farming, and it will offer various forms of assistance, such as opportunities to actually try farming, help matching idle land in the Tamsui area, and the provision of agricultural cultivation knowledge... and more. It is also hoped that through a group like this, the solitary struggle of traditional agriculture can be broken, a sound agricultural cooperation mechanism can be built, and a complete agricultural industry chain can be established. More people are welcome to join in and take part in the discussion.
