Young people return to their hometown to raise shrimp, cultivating water and land to produce toxin-free "three-generation" shrimp
The Grandfather-Grandson Shrimp Team of Yizhu
"Mid-Autumn Festival is when shrimp are most abundant; in winter, there are fewer." Jiahua says this while pulling a centipede net (shrimp net) out of the fish pond in the cold wind. That day his net held not only lively, jumping shrimp but also a milkfish. Using co-cultured fish to create a natural ecological environment that helps the shrimp grow is one of Jiahua's chemical-free shrimp farming techniques. Only twenty-eight years old, he has been back in Chiayi for just a few short years. Taking over his grandfather's shrimp pond, he began a hard battle.

High-Quality Fresh Shrimp Proven Chemical-Free Through SGS Testing
Jiahua's shrimp, in addition to being "freshly caught" and "flash-frozen," go through one extra step. The harvested shrimp are placed in a clean saltwater tank at the same temperature as the fish pond to "remove the mud vein," commonly called a "SPA wash," and the clean shrimp are then sent into a minus 30 degree cold storage for flash-freezing. Because of this step-by-step approach, they passed SGS's chemical-free and drug-free testing without difficulty, making them genuinely chemical-free shrimp.
Grandfather-Grandson Shrimp Stay at Home
After returning to Chiayi, Jiahua lives with his grandfather in the house where he grew up, and his grandfather, still hale and hearty, goes to the fish pond to work with him every day. "After working away from home, I learned that having a meal with family used to be really hard." Now he eats breakfast with his grandfather every day, and Jiahua, who named his family's shrimp "Grandfather-Grandson Shrimp," has not only a deep affection for his family but also a clear understanding that the only way to stay in his hometown is to truly earn enough money to support himself. Even though the traditional farming method lay simply before his eyes, he still chose a difficult road to walk. "Farm shrimp, farm water, farm the land, farm yourself."
