African swine fever-positive virus detected for the first time in Vietnamese pork products
For the first time, African swine fever-positive virus has been detected in Vietnamese pork products! The Central Emergency Operation Center for African Swine Fever held an emergency press conference this evening (the 15th), announcing that the African swine fever virus had been detected in a pork sandwich brought in from Vietnam. This is the first time a source country of meat products other than China has been found to have meat containing the African swine fever virus. The passenger has currently been fined NT$30,000.
In addition, Council of Agriculture Minister Chen Chi-chung announced that a symposium will be held on March 7 and 8 inviting countries across Asia to discuss the situation of African swine fever prevention and control in the Asian region, the corresponding measures and their effectiveness, and to jointly establish regional joint prevention.

International disease prevention experts invited to Taiwan in March for symposium
Faced with the ever-worsening African swine fever epidemic, does our country have other measures to block the epidemic? Chiu Chui-chang, director-general of the Animal Health Research Institute, said that a symposium will be held at National Taiwan University on March 7 and 8, inviting disease prevention experts from across Asia and internationally to attend. Chiu explained that the current plan is to invite countries where outbreaks have occurred, such as Russia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand, as well as British experts researching swine fever epidemics, to jointly share each country's control measures and results regarding the African swine fever epidemic and how to establish a joint prevention system in the future.
In addition, there are also plans to invite the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which previously assisted with the African swine fever epidemic within China, to participate, in the hope of gaining a better understanding of the epidemic situation on the other side.
