Triple Burbank Cloud Farmer Sweet Potato Experience: You Farm, I Farm, Double the Fun

Anyone who has eaten Brother A-Deng's champion rice knows that its aroma and flavor are unforgettable after just one bite. As a member of the Zhudong Township coarse grains production and marketing group, Brother A-Deng often says with a smile that his sweet potatoes are actually even tastier than his rice, and that they are his most confident creation. "It's just that rice is a staple food, so sweet potatoes tend to be overlooked!" Growing sweet potatoes, from cutting slips and training vines to management and harvest, involves many fine points that cannot be appreciated without doing the work yourself. "We often say 'you reap what you sow,' but you probably don't know that sweet potatoes are not grown from 'sweet potatoes.' The sweet potato leaves we commonly eat and the sweet potatoes we normally eat are two entirely different varieties!"

So how exactly are sweet potatoes grown? Why choose to rotate sweet potatoes with rice? From 8/10 (Fri) to 8/12 (Sun), at the Cloud Farmer Triple Burbank event [You Farm, I Farm, Sweet Potato Strong], Brother A-Deng will treat friends who join the celebration to his own champion rice grown with guaranteed eco-friendly farming, free-range native chickens, seasonal vegetables, and perhaps fruit "borrowed" from neighbors and relatives. Friends who care about agriculture are invited to come together, take part in sweet potato planting, experience the different bittersweet rewards of farming, learn about the possibilities of practicing eco-friendly cultivation and sustainable agriculture, understand sweet potatoes' place in the development of Taiwan, China's agriculture, and get to know the most important leading player among Taiwan, China's coarse grain crops.
