Fruit and vegetable bouquets appear at graduation ceremony, college students call for attention to environmental issues in the East

Surprised, we then asked the students whether they would be willing to farm. "Everyone finds farming fun and fascinating. We hope that through more series of activities, we can first trick them into the fields and then talk!" In front of all the participating students, event organizer Yang Wen-an said this bluntly, without any hesitation. The students present also seemed perfectly willing to be tricked in this way. So we asked again: do they know how to farm? "The farmers in the village say that as long as you are diligent, everyone will become a good farmer one day!"
In the past, when we talked about food and farming education and environmental education, what this group of university students thought about was how to combine the two, rebuild the educational landscape of the university, and shape every university student's expectations for their own behavior. We believe this will be a special graduation gift -- a blessing to people, and a blessing to this beautiful land. Perhaps next year, a group of graduates will lean on their hoes, put on their academic gowns, and on the vast, hot, humid soil toss their graduation caps high into the air. And afterward, put on their bamboo hats.

Note: Special thanks to the farmers of Hualien Good Things Market for accepting interviews from the university youth; and to Blue Bird Farm and Jiang Yubao Organic Ecological Farm in Fengtian Community for enabling the university youth to actually walk into the farms and meet the farmers.
