The Leftovers Terminator roams on a tricycle, doing chivalrous deeds for the Earth along the way
We arranged to meet at a cafe, and while ordering drinks at the counter, apple reminded me twice in a row: "Don't take a straw!" After we sat down, when I handed my business card to Kaiwei and apple, apple again said in a gentle tone: "We can just take a photo, but could we not take the business card?" I was stunned for a few seconds, and suddenly realized that the little details of daily life are full of tiny demons that harm nature, and they are the knights who right wrongs, slaying demons in the real world.
Food waste has become the norm; founding the "Leftover Food Terminators" community
Ye Kaiwei and Lin Sipin (nicknamed apple) founded the "Leftover Food Terminators, If You Can't Finish It Find Me" community last summer. Uneaten food is posted on this platform, and people who need it can leave a message to request it. Starting from close friends and family at the beginning, the community now has 16,000 members. Every day someone posts to offer food they can't finish, and enthusiastic members offer their own stomachs in response. The remaining food is not wasted, and all of it is put to use where it belongs.
Humans plunder resources from nature, yet also waste them recklessly. Lin Sipin said that whether plants or animals, they are treated in bad ways, such as conventional farming and intensive farming, before they can become food and come before you, but this food is then wasted. "I was originally a vegetarian, and later started trying to eat meat. For leftover food, I eat it regardless of whether it is meat or vegetarian. I always feel that only this way can I be worthy of this food."
Ye Kaiwei, on the other hand, developed the habit of clearing leftovers from childhood. "Grandma would cook a lot and a lot of dishes, and because I couldn't stand seeing food wasted, I would try hard to finish it all." The frugality toward food did not disappear with the world of material desire; instead, it flourished and bloomed.
The Leftover Food Terminators community lets participants each post, sharing leftovers so others can claim them

"This is the reality we face"
Living the life you want, will there be other dreams? Lin Sipin said, I hope Mother Earth will not suffer anymore, and that I can live my whole life in a way that is friendly to the environment. "After I die, becoming food for cheetahs and being eaten by beloved animals, isn't that very romantic? I hope I can also become part of what I contribute to nature."
Ye Kaiwei said, I hope one day everyone will not be in such a hurry to do anything, and will just space out and sleep well. We live in this world and are all carried along by this wave: work, earn money, eat, shop, an endless spiral. I previously read a book on ecological psychology. Humans are like they have autism. They rely on natural resources to live, yet cannot coexist well with nature, and can only keep plundering resources continuously. Even when people die, they are unwilling to return to nature; ossuary urns and coffins stubbornly draw a boundary line with nature.
As for society's doubts, they cannot be bothered to argue. People often ask, is eating leftovers unhealthy? "We have lived perfectly well until now. People who flaunt their seniority will say that one day you will have to face reality, and one day you will have to return to the normal track. "What is normal? What is reality? This is the reality we face, this is my truth."
