Compared with the selection of Taiwan's Top Ten Classic Farming and Fishing Villages held in 2007, this time, with the assistance of the "Taiwan-Germany Social and Economic Association," it connects with Germany's bottom-up village competition spirit and formulates a complete competition system suited to Taiwan. In addition to the original dimensions of production, living, ecology and culture, the key difference is identifying the future potential and practical capacity of rural communities. In recent years, the Council of Agriculture has vigorously promoted rural regeneration, bringing more vitality, confidence and future vision to rural areas.
