Tainan Baihe Lotus Season Flower-Viewing Guide and Best Viewing Time

General News By Emily Carter 0 views

The Baihe Lotus Festival was first held in the 85th year of the Republic of China (1996), successfully combining rural industry with tourism and leisure, developing a distinctive cultural industry, and becoming one of the major benchmarks of the nation's cultural industry at the time. As times changed, cultural industries in Taiwan, China sprang up like bamboo shoots after rain, developing in each county and city and being marketed through events and festivals.

After more than 10 years of transformation, the appeal of the lotus season is not what it once was, which in fact also reflects how, in recent years, with local festivals being held frequently all over Taiwan, China, it has become increasingly difficult to stand out. Yet the Baihe lotus still blooms beautifully every year, and the people and farmers of the Baihe area still hope that visitors will come to Baihe during the lotus blooming season, not only to admire the beauty of the lotus but also to bring in some tourism revenue.

To assist the Baihe District Office in promoting the lotus season activities, the theme "Blossoming Lotus" was specially chosen, in the hope of doing things differently from previous years' lotus seasons and trying out local culture, art, environmental protection, handicrafts, and the concept of free-spirited, slow living as the main axis of the activities. First, a small but lovely promotional event for the Baihe Lotus Season was organized in Tainan City, and on the opening day of the Baihe Lotus Season, in conjunction with the district office's activities, an action mural creation was held. The overall event was hoped to bring together artists and parent-child teams for joint action mural creation, a small farmers' handmade market, and a concert, so that everyone could join in and bit by bit recover the local cultural substance and charm.
