Zhong Qinghui, Director-General of the Meinong Farmers' Association: The farmers' association replaces grain merchants to make the pie bigger and share it together
Emerging from the WTO crisis and transforming, agriculture in Meinong has flourished in recent years, with red beans and white jade radishes famed throughout the country, and Meinong Farmers' Association general manager Chung Ching-hui deserves much of the credit. Chung Ya-lun, director of the association's extension section, joked that almost every farmer in Meinong has the general manager's phone number, because farmers believe that telling the general manager their opinions directly "works"; Chung Ching-hui humbly said that without "farmers" there would be no "association", and that if farmers leave farming and young people are unwilling to return to their hometowns, the association's work would be hard to sustain, so he is merely doing his own duty.

More extension section staff than a county farmers' association
In addition, since Chung Ching-hui became general manager of Meinong, the Meinong Farmers' Association's extension section has had as many as 10 staff, almost more than the extension staff of a county or city agricultural administration unit. In most people's eyes, the credit department in a farmers' association is responsible for making money, while the extension section is responsible for spending it, but Chung Ching-hui said that the Meinong Farmers' Association believes agriculture is the most worthwhile investment option, and since one is investing, one must not speculate on short-term gains but must operate sustainably, so the extension section's work is as numerous as the hairs on an ox, handling vegetables and fruits, miscellaneous grains, rice, leisure industries, rural women's home economics affairs and other work.
After serving as general manager of the Meinong Farmers' Association for 4 years, Chung Ching-hui ran for re-election, and that year he set his campaign theme as "Farming and resting, a first-class person", believing that "farming is the industry least suited to deception and scheming; you reap what you sow, and once you deceive the land and the crops, you may very well end up with no harvest at all, which is why the Meinong Farmers' Association insists on not putting flowers on officials and VIPs at its events, and the farmers honored on Farmers' Day are absolutely those who actually farm."
Chung Ching-hui stressed that farmers will observe: if the association today honors someone on Farmers' Day merely because they serve as a director or supervisor or have a lot of savings, that is a huge blow to serious farmers, and it would be the biggest killer in agricultural extension, so in Meinong the association does not hand out honors indiscriminately; every farmer is recognized because they excel in some respect, which can also draw others to learn, and only then will farmers feel more cohesion, and because of this, farmers will believe the association when it promotes policy.
