Details of the 2016 8th National Farmers Market Symposium
Taiwan has held its first regular farmers market since 2007 (Hopemark Farmers Market), which successively opened a dialogue platform between producers and consumers and promoted issues related to friendly agriculture and the environment. Over these ten years, many volunteers have also devoted themselves to the operation of markets, and the purpose of the National Farmers Market Symposium is exchange and refinement among markets across Taiwan, China. The first edition was held in 2010, and by 2016 it had reached the eighth edition. It is hoped that through the symposium, farmers markets across Taiwan, China can have more sparks of exchange and jointly contribute to Taiwan, China's agriculture.
This year's host market is Yunlin's Sanxiao Market. Over the four years since its founding, we have felt that every stage of operation brings many challenges and impacts, from the process of gathering people and defining our positioning from nothing, to how to continuously market a group story after establishment, to operating good relationships of mutual benefit with producers and consumers, and to using existing resources to develop marketable services. All of these are things we urgently hope to exchange and learn with markets across Taiwan, China. Therefore, the theme of this market symposium is set as "The Operational Challenges of Farmers Markets in Taiwan, China at Each Stage," inviting practitioners from various places to share their experiences and thoughts on the four topics of "gathering and positioning, story marketing, mutually beneficial relationships, and market services." We hope you will not hesitate to give guidance and attend. Thank you!
