Missing Person Notice - Preface

This Japanese woman’s father (Japanese national) was a teacher at the early Jinguo National School in Shinchiku Prefecture (now Sanjiao National Elementary School). During 1945-1947, she repatriated to Japan with her father, while the Japanese dormitory cluster in faraway Sanjiao, Taiwan, remained the hometown her father yearned for day and night, yet due to poor health he never had the chance to return to Taiwan to seek his roots.

After her father passed away, the woman came to Taiwan from Japan 15 years ago, and finally returned to Sanjiao, Miaoli, only to see the happy home of those years long since fallen into disrepair. At once her tears poured out, yet that mournful crying unexpectedly set in motion the transformation and rebirth of an entire village, giving rise to one touching life story after another. In the stories there are 4 main characters, he and she meeting and crossing paths in this Japanese dormitory cluster in Sanjiao~

And now, with the dormitories restored and the rush weaving revived, Sanjiao has finally been reborn. The local residents want to find that Taiwan-born Japanese woman from those years, to tell her in person: don’t be sad~ don’t cry~ the happy home has come back to life. They look forward to this October’s 105th anniversary celebration of Sanjiao Elementary School, hoping you can reunite with them~ we are waiting for you at the Sanjiao Japanese dormitory cluster….

This is not an ordinary missing person notice, what is to be found here,is a Japanese woman’s feeling of seeking roots in Taiwan, and this feeling, has set in motion the turning and rebirth of an entire village, such influence, this gratitude, thanks and emotion, let us search together…

4 touching stories, to be sharedwith you one after another~
