Wutai Alem Tribal Red Flesh Plum Harvest Holiday, 2013 Production Only This One Batch
Come on! Turn off your phone and feel the laid-back ease that is unique to mountain villages. Leave behind the air conditioning and the office, and come up to the mountains to work your muscles; it lets you clear your mind for a while, feel your heartbeat, work up a sweat, and rediscover your own passion and vitality.
Why choose the red-flesh plum of Ali Village in Wutai Township? The red-flesh plum is remarkably hardy; it is grown without toxic methods, needing no special spraying, pest removal or fertiliser, growing naturally and yet still growing strong and healthy. It is an easy fruit to care for all year round, yet it must be harvested within just half a month; if it is not picked at the right time, the whole crop may drop off overnight.
After Typhoon Morakot, Ali Village had little manpower left in its home area, and with no one managing it, the fruiting red-flesh plum orchard became an animal playground. Mischievous macaques swing among the branches and often take one bite of an unripe red-flesh plum before tossing it away, and the villagers feel such heartache seeing the ground covered with red-flesh plums that have each been bitten once... This year, Ali Village plans to invite a large group of people to join our red-flesh plum harvest in May, when the red-flesh plums ripen. During these 3 days of the harvest holiday, the joy of the farming family's harvest and the pure natural desserts and handmade traditional foods that the locals will teach you to make, together with sharing the fine environment of Ali and its rich Rukai atmosphere with the villagers.
