Pingtung University of Agriculture and Forestry Launches Farming Learning Platform, Farmers Build Green Gold Through Independent Marketing
The Pingtung County Government continues to promote agricultural development and encourage people to take up farming. Last year's first Pingtung County Agricultural University was both critically acclaimed and popular, attracting as many as 652 registrations, so this year it is continuing to hold the second Agricultural University. The second Agricultural University is expected to accept registrations from today until May 15 (mail-in registrations until May 10). Anyone interested in agricultural management and development, aged 18 or above and registered as a resident of Pingtung County, may register.
On the 28th, the Agriculture Department held a recruitment press conference at the Angel Garden Farm in Zhutian Township, officially announcing that the second Agricultural University has begun recruiting students. The second program's courses are divided into an "introductory class," a "basic class" and a "specialized class," with each class admitting 60 people. The introductory class focuses mainly on an introduction to agriculture, while the basic class covers cultivation techniques and practice, soil and fertilizers, pest and disease management and diagnostic techniques, and an introduction to pesticides and their practice. The specialized class covers agricultural business operation and management, packaging design, agricultural product processing, agricultural cost analysis and profit, bank loans, and investment project evaluation.
The Agricultural University was founded by the county government and is assisted in its implementation by National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. It provides an education and training platform for those who wish to take up agriculture and for professional farmers, raising farmers' productivity and increasing output value through short-term training. In addition to production-side courses, there are also courses in packaging design and financial marketing, injecting new blood and a new atmosphere into traditional agriculture.
