Domestic timber participates in a major international building materials exhibition for the first time; eight businesses stand out with their use of Japanese cedar, acacia, bamboo and other materials
Taiwan's forestry logging ban has lasted nearly 30 years, causing the decline of the domestic forestry industry, plantation forests cannot be properly cycled, and the Forestry Bureau has successively introduced domestic timber production and sales history verification and the Taiwan Timber Label, and for the first time gathered 8 domestic businesses to build the Domestic Timber Taiwan Pavilion, participating in the international building materials exhibition to show the strength of domestic timber. Council of Agriculture Minister Lin Tsung-hsien stated that Taiwan's timber demand is 6 million cubic meters per year, but domestic timber accounts for only 0.8%, not even 1%, and he hopes that in the future it can double and grow every year, driving increases in local industry output value and job opportunities.
