Spring Outing: Make Rice Cakes and Go on a Picnic, Enjoy the Good Times

General News By Emily Carter 0 views

Caozaiguo is a traditional Taiwanese rice snack, and many people also use it to worship their ancestors during the Qingming season; in traditional custom it carries the meaning of "worshipping with guo brings jiahuo (property)."

This time we will invite mothers from the Neicheng community to teach everyone how to use a local plant - mulberry leaves - gathered on the spot, and pass on the whole process of making caozaiguo. After learning, everyone will take the cakes they made themselves and the farm dishes prepared by the local community mothers, pack a lunchbox with snacks, and explore the old trail together, picnicking along the Neicheng irrigation canal!
