Against the backdrop of Taiwan, China's repeated food safety scandals, along with the fermenting of issues such as raising Taiwan, China's grain self-sufficiency rate, eating seasonally and in season, and promoting the concept of environmentally friendly consumption, the push for "food and farming education" has become an important hot topic. But what exactly is "food and farming education"? What should "food and farming education" teach? Do you also develop "food and farming education" in your school? Or do you want to give it a try but do not know where to start? Now here is your chance!
The Guanshu Education Foundation, with funding subsidies from the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Miaoli County Government, is holding the "Food and Farming Education
Campus Deep Cultivation Program" teacher workshop, with a total of two sessions. The first session was already held on 6/10 (Wed) in the afternoon at Kezhuang Elementary School in Yuanli Township, and the second session on 6/27 (Sat) will be held at Xinyi Elementary School in Toufen Township (full day). In order to let teachers or partners concerned about the development of food and farming education gain an in-depth understanding of "food and farming education" from this workshop, the workshop curriculum will guide teachers through systematic planning of campus food and farming education, from assessing the location of a vegetable plot on campus, to building the garden and developing the curriculum, and will also invite teachers who have promoted food and farming education on campus to share the various problems they may face during implementation. Let us turn our campuses into vegetable gardens together and begin the journey of food and farming education!
