This time, the Friendly-Environment Restaurant Bittersweet Sharing Session has once again invited You Huiling, author of "Eating Is the Most Beautiful Upbringing," to talk with Xiami founder Xinhui about the idea that "running a restaurant is also a kind of culture." What exactly does it mean that running a restaurant is a kind of culture.? What is this topic about?

Over the past ten-plus years as a food and lifestyle journalist, Huiling has made friends with farmers, gone down to fish ponds to look for sweetfish, and flown to corners of the world to interview people working on food and friendly-environment issues, including Alice Waters and Dan Hunter. In these brief two hours, Huiling and Xinhui will talk about what restaurant culture is. It is not simply cooking for guests, but taking vegetables painstakingly grown by friends we know (farmer friends are our friends) and cooking good dishes with care for another group of friends to eat (the guests): how to connect with local issues and social issues, and how to properly care for the Earth, for work partners, and for family through food.

We have created the "Friendly-Environment Restaurant Bittersweet Sharing Session" as a highly interactive event. It is not just about listening to the speakers; we also hope participating friends will exchange with one another and create sparks of change together. During the sharing process, you are very welcome to share your own experience too. In the past, we have met restaurant operators, teachers and students from food and beverage departments, customers who simply wanted to get to know Xiami, and farmer friends who grow their own vegetables. As long as you are interested in "friendly-environment restaurants," you are welcome to come.

Event fee: 200 yuan
You are welcome to dine at Xiami in advance. If you order a main course or set meal that day, you can deduct 50 yuan from the event fee.
