Do you know how much your household spends each month on electricity? Which appliances at home silently keep pushing your electricity bill over the limit?

Summer is almost here. Turning off lights when you leave a room and setting the air conditioner to 26 degrees or above - are these old sayings about saving energy and cutting carbon really enough to help you save electricity?

Saving energy is producing energy. Since the year before last, the Homemakers United Foundation has been looking for simple, practical tips for saving energy in daily life. This year, we want to go further and turn slogans and knowledge into a physical energy education base, spreading the message that saving energy as an individual or a household does not require living a life of hardship and endurance. Instead, you can choose suitable methods based on your own needs, conditions and living environment, and steadily move toward an energy-saving lifestyle. At the base, to help the public really feel energy, we will also set up a power-generation experience area where you can pedal to generate one kilowatt-hour of electricity.

We invite you, who want to promote household electricity saving and also want to help other households save electricity, to join our team of base docents. From May to October we will offer a series of docent courses, including how to understand your electricity bill, find the appliances at home that consume electricity, manage home appliances, and also use dental floss boxes to make fun handmade miniature power plants, energy-saving and healthy electric pot cooking and more. We hope that through concrete action and practice, saving electricity will no longer be just a slogan, and will begin to sprout everywhere in countless households!

■ Training goal: After completing the training course, docents can explain energy-saving knowledge at the energy education base.

■ Who we are recruiting:

1. You, who want to take energy-saving knowledge one step closer to action.

2. You, who are willing to promote energy-saving knowledge to more people

3. The foundation will arrange docent frequency and time slots according to docents' availability.
