1. The spirit of natural farming
In this class I will share the story of how I first started practicing natural farming. How did a Taipei native who knew nothing learn the secrets of no pesticides and no fertilizers from plants and insects on a plot of land that had been sprayed with pesticides and treated with chemical fertilizers for years?
2. Introduction to Shumei Natural Farming
In this class I will share the principles of practicing Shumei Natural Farming. No pesticides and no fertilizers is simple - just don't apply them, right? But what should you do when problems arise? By watching the film about apple farmer Mr. Kimura, we will explore the root of the problem together.
3. Nitrate testing
In this class I will share the problem of fertilizers. We all know pesticides are bad, but we don't realize that fertilizers are also harmful to the land, crops, consumers and producers. Through simple nitrate testing, let us understand that food safety cannot be judged by certifications and labels alone.
4. Facing the food industry
Watch the film "Behind the Soaring World Food Prices" to analyze the intricate structure of the modern food production system. With seeds at the core, agribusiness has developed into a massive force wealthy enough to rival nations, and after gradually absorbing producers around the world, what challenges will consumers face? Although the problem is troublesome, the solution is actually very simple.
