In the blazing heat of summer, follow County Roads 174 and 175 into Dongshan District, and as far as the eye can see, the longan trees are laden with heavy clusters of longan fruit; under the intense sun, these bunches of longan glow like golden pearls, brimming with life!! Turning off Dongyuan Boulevard into Lingnan Community, on the road toward the community activity center, you can see several longan kilns drying the harvested longan, with wisps of white smoke rising from the kilns, like a rural landscape of the industrial age seen in a Hayao Miyazaki animation. What is special is that among them stands a five-mouth longan kiln museum completed this year; the birth of this museum means that community development in Lingnan is moving toward a brand-new milestone.

The community's motivation for initiating the construction of a longan kiln museum comes from a strong identification with, and a desire to preserve, the local roasting industry culture; it holds that through the establishment of a museum, the community can fully present and preserve the life history of the longan kiln, and can thereby authentically reflect the content of early Lingnan ordinary people's living culture, and it further hopes to deepen local residents' sense of identification with traditional longan industry culture and thus drive the possibilities for subsequent local development.
