One person borrows five thousand yuan, jointly supporting Li Pi Cuo

General News By Emily Carter 0 views

'Lipi House' carries the memories of four generations. Having declined amid the shifts of the times, she longs to shine once more. One person's capital is not enough, but by gathering everyone's strength and capital, we can buy a piece of land and pass on ecology and sustainability. For this dream, we hope you will join us in piling up sand to make a tower and lend a helping hand.

I want to fulfill a dream and carry on my mother's history...

This small settlement, commonly known as "Xincheng" (New Town), has long since declined and fallen into ruin. Only a handful of residents still live here; the few remaining elders are 8-90 years old or more, adding up to nearly 500 years between them. In the unoccupied red-brick tile-roofed houses, roofs are broken and collapsed, their former glory long gone.

Yilan is rainy, with ponds and pools of all sizes everywhere, so the road here is named after the nearby clam-shaped pond and called "Lipi Road," and I named this old house "Lipi House" after the road. In my heart, Lipi House is not dilapidated, just old and worn; she too once had flourishing years with a thriving household.

If you support my life blueprint and are willing to take part in the founding and continuation of this small learning base, please give me the chance to buy this piece of land.

●Lipi House's positioning and future development blueprint:
1. A practice base for ecological sustainability
2. A backpacker hostel for farm helpers / wanderers
3. A treasure-appreciation clubhouse based on barter
4. A return to traditional handmade sharing
5. Environmentally friendly, low-carbon space creation
6. Self-sufficient clean energy

Q: Why not go to a bank for a loan if you lack money?

A: A bank loan requires either real estate (land, house, car) or a credit loan, but as a farmer without land, unless I rely on my parents, it is very hard to borrow money. And borrowing at a high interest rate would be very frustrating. In fact, 4 million is not a lot, but I have everything except money, so I had no choice but to raise funds in an unconventional way.

Q: Where is the public-interest value of this fundraising? Why should I lend you money?

A: I thought about using a public-interest trust, but Yuejian is not registered as a legal entity, nor is it an environmental organization, nor a well-known NGO association; for the general public who do not know Yuejian, its credibility is indeed insufficient. I do not want to naively say that the shareholders will jointly manage this land (joint management is truly not easy to operate, and there is not yet a practical and effective plan), so the use of the land will still be based on developing the base for Yuejian Learning Farm; what I can promise is that we were originally born of the land, the land has never been an option for us to profit from buying and selling, and we will absolutely not resell this piece of land.
This is a dream of mine. I have thought about how insignificant this plan is: compared with land expropriation for development, the losses suffered are worlds apart; compared with the struggle to preserve historic sites, Lipi House is not a grand household, its building is neither splendid nor outstanding, and its age is not old enough. In the end, this is my own selfish wish, and I also face the fact that unless one has ample capital, wanting to own a piece of land of one's own is truly not easy. But friends, if you are willing to lend funds, it will be tremendous encouragement and support for Yuejian's future development.

Thank you for your support! And thank you for sharing and forwarding!
