Food Scraps to Gold Event Information Revealed

General News By Emily Carter 0 views

Do you know Liu Lixue? A man of boundless energy, he began more than twenty years ago shuttling around Shimen, Sanzhi and other places, collecting "pun" (food waste), and then, with a pair of clever hands, turning kitchen scraps into gold, creating beautiful natural vegetables grown without any pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

How exactly did this remarkable figure go from the computer industry to becoming a Taiwanese farmer? Just how powerful is kitchen waste, that it can make leafy greens robust and beautiful? Let us listen together to Liu Lixue's environmental revolution!

After at least 4 months of composting, the "pun" produces solid and liquid fertilizers with extremely high nutrient content. The vegetables and fruits grown at Linhai Farm use only these purely natural composts, and absolutely no chemical fertilizers or chemical pesticide products. The goal is not only to grow healthy, delicious fruits and vegetables, but also to promote this environmentally friendly model to small farms throughout Taiwan.

A brief introduction to Jiami:
This is not just a restaurant, but also a small space for environmental advocacy. We hope to steadily purchase local, seasonal agricultural products, solve farmers' sales difficulties, raise Taiwan's food self-sufficiency rate, and use contract farming to help conventional farming transition to sustainable agriculture, reducing pesticide and chemical fertilizer pollution of forests, rivers and soil, and defending farmers' right to be free from harm by toxic substances. On the consumer side, we provide the public with healthy and delicious meals; every purchase is a force for protecting Taiwan's environment.

This is also a group that proves that a business (and if in the future it can become a conglomerate, a conscientious conglomerate, so much the better) can bring positive help to society and the environment. We hope to use an indigenous-tribe style of operation to become a socially advocacy-oriented enterprise. The existence of this restaurant is not for making money, but making money is for keeping the restaurant alive. Let us together use the power of eating to defend the Earth. Rice/You too can change the world!
