A Leisurely Bike Ride Through the Garden City: A Little Trip to Zhongxing New Village

Who it's for / The general public, and anyone interested in cultural assets, history and old houses.
Itinerary features / Most people visiting Zhongxing New Village for sightseeing and relaxation use the large parade ground, the park and the children's playground as venues for family activities such as kite flying, or visit exhibitions at the Taiwan Historical and Cultural Park, the Provincial Government Information Center and the Hushan Art Museum. We have carefully planned an intellectual itinerary different from the usual, taking you to explore Zhongxing New Village's unique historical value and cultural landscape, to see the development trajectory and architectural features of the state-owned dormitories here, and to see how Zhongxing New Village, originally a stretch of dry farmland when the town was first built, became a garden city with a diverse range of tree species and beautiful greenways under the careful planning of those who came before.

Event fee / Guided tour fee of 200 yuan per person for the whole route. Bike rental and lunch are paid separately. Those renting bicycles must pay an additional rental fee of 100 yuan per bike.
Lunch: enjoy specialty fried rice with soup and fruit at the Jezreel Conference Center, 100 yuan per person (vegetarian available), during which a documentary film [30 minutes] will be shown.
*Group registrations of 15 or more people may directly negotiate the activity time with the organizer, without being limited to the fixed sessions. Please refer to [Notes on Group Registration] at the bottom of this page.
Payment method / Pay in cash after gathering on the day of the event. Please bring exact change.

Those coming from afar who need accommodation, please refer to:
Meeting time/place: 9:00~9:20.Guangming Village Post Office (No. 648, Zhongzheng Road, Nantou City).
Those who need to rent bicycles should first go to Dongyi Bicycle Shop (address: No. 16, Zhongxing Road, Nantou City. Right next to the Guangming Village Post Office. TEL: 049-2337000) to pick up their bikes, and gather at the Guangming Village Post Office before 9:20. Those arriving by bus should get off at Zhongxing New Village Guangming Village Stop, and walk forward about 2 minutes to reach the Guangming Village Post Office. Friends arriving by car who need parking should park in the alley at Lane 58, Zhongxing Road, Nantou City, and after parking, walk about 100-200 m toward Zhongzheng Road to reach the Guangming Village Post Office. (Those unfamiliar with the geographical location of Zhongxing New Village please refer to the attached map at the bottom of the page:
After entering the main entrance of Zhongxing New Village (the Zhongxing New Village archway), turn right at the roundabout onto Zhongzheng Road (red route), and keep going straight; not far after crossing Neilu Bridge you will reach the meeting place.)

Registration notes
1. Children aged 3-12 (elementary school) pay half price, 100 yuan per person; half-price children must be accompanied by an adult.
2. Physical fitness limits: the full-day bicycle route totals 5-7 km, and the event is fairly long, so please consider your personal physical ability.
3. Before registering, please assess your own physical condition and read the notes for each activity carefully. If you have any special symptoms, please proactively inform the event contact before the activity to ensure your safety during participation.
4. A thoughtful reminder: please bring your own drinking water, sports shoes, hat, thin and thick jackets, and sun protection, wind protection and mosquito protection items, as well as your health insurance card. For any personal special medical conditions, be sure to bring your own medication.
5. In response to ecotourism, please bring your own personal eco-friendly tableware.
6. Those who have registered but cannot attend, please notify the event contact as early as possible, to help with counting the number of people for bicycle rental reservations.
7. About 3 days before the event, a pre-trip notice will be sent by email, so please watch for it.
8. If the event cannot take place or must be postponed due to bad weather or force majeure, participants will be notified by text message or phone before the event.
9. Those who fail to check in without reason, or who leave the group midway, are deemed to have voluntarily given up, and no refund will be given.

Notes on group registration
1. Groups of 15 or more may book an activity time, with a maximum of 35 people per group.
2. The group activity fee is 3,600 yuan for a 1-day guided tour, not including insurance; please arrange your own insurance. Bicycle rental and lunch fees are paid separately. The bicycle rental fee is 100 yuan per bike.
3. The activity itinerary is basically the same as the itinerary above; the organizer will adjust the activity content according to the group size and circumstances.
4. To make a booking, please first fill out the group registration form at the very bottom and tell us your preferred activity time; the organizer will contact you as soon as possible after receiving the email. Thank you.
