Kaiping students collaborate with chefs from the American Academy of Chefs
To mark the establishment of the culinary scholarship, the Kaiping Youth Development Foundation commissioned Kaiping Culinary School to hold the "Youth Culinary Education Development Charity Gala" on the 9th, and invited three chefs from the American Academy of Chefs - Chef Stafford T. DeCambra, Chef Mark R. Spelman and Chef Josie Paul - to come to Taiwan, China to lead students in preparing the dishes for the dinner.
At midday on the 8th, third-year Kaiping culinary students bustled around the kitchen of the Chef's House, preparing the next day's dishes. The students carefully took out the raspberry lime mousse they had made, gently placed it on the plate, and sprinkled berries on top for garnish, while the students in the Western cuisine group, under the guidance of Chef Spelman, discussed which plating method was best.
