Xiyuan Gongheguo Farming Battle Camp takes you to experience half-farming, half-learning

Rejoice Wheat and Rejoice Soybean have for two consecutive years faced drastic climate swings in autumn and winter, which have not only affected the growth characteristics of the crops but also left them caught between mechanical and manual harvesting. In the past we would use images and written descriptions to call on society to understand the difficult situation of crop production, and to affirm the growers' efforts through the power of consumption.

But during the harvest period, it is often "manpower" that growers need most urgently, so we decided to take more concrete and active action by establishing the "Rejoice Farming Battle Camp". We hope everyone will move from understanding and concern to taking the initiative in labor participation and assistance, building a "shared work" companion relationship. Besides relieving the pressure of manual harvesting, this can strengthen growers' confidence and bring together different professions to inject different production elements into farming.

The "Rejoice Farming Battle Camp" not only focuses on hands-on labor assistance in actual production, but in the future will also integrate the growth timelines of different crops (wheat, soybean, sesame, buckwheat…) and hold field "study visits" (learning and exchange) and "art excursions" (photography, sketching...) at the production sites, enlivening the production stages of the crops.

The "Rejoice Farming Battle Camp" invites everyone to set out from "shared work", grow through "shared learning", and sing joyfully in "shared excursions"!

The Rejoice Soybean Special Agent Team enters its Spring-Autumn Year II. This year, due to abnormal climate, the seven hectares of autumn soybean in the Changliang Organic Zone in Hualien generally had shorter plant height, but under the care of Zeng Guoqi of Dongfeng Organic Farm they still grew sturdy. Because the height was insufficient, using large machinery would lower the harvest rate and would not cover costs, so we decided to jointly call for 12 helpers to go to the Changliang Organic Zone to assist Dongfeng Organic Farm in manually harvesting the autumn soybean, and to take part in the soybean sorting work.

Through the strength of the group, we hope not only to give farmers substantive help in labor, but also to accompany them in spirit amid the shifting climate. In the future, the "Rejoice Republic" (Rejoice Community-supported Agriculture Livelihood Group) will continue to hold farming experience activities based on crops, giving support to growers and also giving consumers a chance to experience the agricultural production process.
