Jimmy No. 5 GiveMeFive - Children's Rural Experience Public Welfare Activity Creates Unlimited Imagination for Rural Areas

General News By Emily Carter 0 views

After the children's rural experience charity events at Xiangtan Elementary School on 8/10 and 8/11, the Jimmy No. 5 team continued its collaboration with Eleven Stone (Danshui) Garden Cafe to hold the second children's rural experience charity event on 9/15.

Closely following the spirit of "local development, giving back to the community," this event entrusted the Yunlin County Child Welfare Development Association to invite children from disadvantaged families in Douliu City and Cihtong Township, Yunlin County, to Day Community in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County to experience the "Jimmy No. 5 - Give Me 5 Experience" rural tourism program. The itinerary included a rural ecology guided tour, chocolate cookie DIY, rural experience drawing, and more. The "5" in "Give Me 5 Experience" represents a full-spectrum experience of the 5 senses.

Abundant Ecology Creates a Five-Sense Feast

Gukeng's Day埔 Community has rich and diverse crops and plants. Walking through the community, you can see banana trees, citrus orchards, ma bamboo shoot gardens, coffee plantations, cinnamon trees, breadfruit trees, and more everywhere. In addition to crops, community residents also place great importance on rural biodiversity, so they created environments such as the Two Suns Wetland and a dragonfly restoration pond to give all kinds of creatures a place to live. Under the guided commentary of Sister Bizhen, the owner of Eleven Stone Coffee Garden, the children absorbed knowledge using their five senses - for example, picking cinnamon leaves and rubbing them to release the cinnamon leaf fragrance while learning about their edibility; tasting freshly picked organic coffee beans to experience that sweet and astringent flavor, and also learning about the growing characteristics of coffee.
