General News By Emily Carter 0 views

Former DPP Chairman Lin Yi-hsiung begins a hunger strike today, and dozens of civil society groups have also launched solidarity actions, putting forward two demands: 1. Halt construction of the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant, and decommission the First, Second and Third Nuclear Power Plants as soon as possible; 2. Return power to the people, and lower the threshold of the "birdcage" referendum law. Green Citizens' Action Alliance Secretary-General Tsui Su-hsin called on the government, saying that if it does not respond to the demands before the 24th, the public will be summoned to sit in at Ketagalan Boulevard, surrounding the Presidential Office.
