CAS Quality Meat Promotion Seed Training Officially Begins
With the summer heat blazing, many university students had already put away their books and were getting ready for summer vacation, but early on Sunday morning (6/22), a group of energetic students appeared in front of the National Taiwan University Department of Animal Science and Technology building, preparing to take part in the CAS Quality Meat Promotion training course and become Taiwan's new force for promoting meat safety in the future!
In view of the endless stream of food safety incidents in Taiwan in recent years, people have to worry about pesticide residues when eating vegetables and fruit, and when eating meat they also have to worry about whether they are consuming lean meat powder or watered-down meat. In addition to the government having to strictly guard the gate, public education on food safety brooks no delay. Therefore, the Central Livestock Production Association, which has long been involved in domestic certification and promotion of CAS quality meat, this year cooperated with the National Taiwan University Department of Animal Science and Technology to invite experts in meat processing research, meat nutrition, and promotional marketing to hold the first CAS Quality Meat Promotion Seed Student Training Course. Through education in and transmission of meat safety knowledge, correct concepts will be spread to every corner of Taiwan.
Associate Professor Luo Qiuying: A sense of mission for promotion and transmission

During the break, students from various schools and departments shared their thoughts with one another. Student Chen, Student Wu, and Student You, who study in the Department of Life Science at Fu Jen Catholic University, said that before attending the course they had heard of the CAS mark, but it felt as if it had little benefit and was not very important. Only after the training course did they understand the layered gatekeeping certification process behind CAS, and that it is "only the product that is recognized, not the factory." They believe this is very important for people's health and well worth promoting. Student Chen from the NTU Department of Animal Science and Technology hopes to use the knowledge learned at school to convey correct ideas to the public about food additives, and believes that if food additives are used appropriately, the benefits outweigh the harms.
It seems the seed students all gained a great deal from the training. It is hoped that after these seeds return to their schools and families, they will bloom everywhere and spread CAS quality meat throughout society. Even more worth looking forward to is that these seed students will appear at the Taipei International Food Show at the Nangang Exhibition Hall on June 27 and 28 to carry out their first CAS quality meat promotion activity. Everyone might as well take advantage of the two days of the 27th and 28th to stroll through the International Food Show. The seed students will bring all kinds of great giveaways, and everyone is asked not to hesitate to give this group of students with a sense of mission some smiles and encouragement!
