The original seed field was prepared in 2014 for Pastor Rice

Original seed field: The pre-basic seed is the purest seed. At the government improvement station, it is taken from the pre-basic seed bank and planted; the resulting grain is called basic seed. Growing basic seed is called an original seed field. The rice harvested from an original seed field is very pure; it is handed over to a propagation farm to cultivate seedlings, then transported back to the park for planting.

Yoji Nan'ao Pastor Rice, using Kaohsiung No. 141, has now entered its third year and has become formally organic. Besides becoming formally organic, this year it was rare to plant six fen of a second crop in Nan'ao. These six fen of field, besides feeding the sparrows that have no rice to eat in the second crop, are the basic seed for next year's nearly 40 jia of Pastor Rice.

We hope that starting next year we can use seed cultivated in Nan'ao, so that Kaohsiung No. 141 can take root and develop into a Pastor Rice that better showcases the flavor of Nan'ao.

10/28, the original seed field survived all of this year's typhoons, as upright and full as ever. Thanks to the National Ilan University students who came to serve at Yoji Nan'ao, witnessing that we have taken another step forward.
