Let egg prices drop
Last year I set up the Facebook page Let Egg Prices Drop and started selling eggs at the entrance of my office. At a price of four yuan per kilogram cheaper than Carrefour, I set out to bring egg prices down.
Over the past two years, egg prices, on a wholesale basis per box of twenty jin, have climbed all the way from over three hundred yuan, reaching as high as six hundred eighty yuan, and recently they have stayed at around six hundred yuan. The cost of a single egg has roughly more than doubled, while the retail price has reached about forty yuan per jin, affecting people's lives enormously.
Last week I heard the premier announce that egg imports would be opened up to stabilize egg prices, but several days have passed and egg prices still have not budged.
Recently I have started letting the eggs "run" along with us.
That is, with the help of sales exhibitions, Xiaoyi and Shuyan take the eggs wherever they go. At the same time, we insist on supplying eggs at four yuan cheaper than Carrefour.
Over these three weeks, at the Rice Food Carnival at the Flora Expo, at the United Daily News event, and at the MSI sales exhibition, we have begun supplying eggs so that everyone can buy cheaper eggs.
These past few days Shuyan has been delivering pomelos nonstop, driving all around the community.
I think we should go a step further and supply eggs as well, opening up orders at three jin for one hundred yuan. That averages only thirty-three yuan.
That is, taking advantage of the pomelo deliveries, when everyone is buying pomelos, the delivery cost does not increase, so we have started delivering eggs too.
