The Agriculture and Food Agency stated that in recent years people have paid increasing attention to food safety and health maintenance, and fresh, safe domestic agricultural raw materials are the basic condition for producing high-quality, delicious foods, while agricultural raw materials certified with production and sales traceability are the best guarantee of food safety. I-Mei Foods emphasized that in the future it will move toward comprehensively making contract purchases of production and sales traceability certified agricultural products.
Coinciding with April 22, "Earth Day," an important international environmental holiday, the Agriculture and Food Agency and I-Mei Foods jointly called on consumers: domestic agricultural products have advantages such as freshness, non-GMO status and a low-carbon footprint, so everyone should consume more local agricultural products, such as domestic soybeans, sweet potatoes and other miscellaneous grains. Besides being healthy, this also contributes to environmental protection, supporting Taiwan agriculture and local agricultural products.
