Permaculture Edible Landscape Design Program Recruits Community Gardeners

General News By Emily Carter 0 views

Food safety scandals keep emerging, and we too are trying to find solutions in daily life. Besides supporting environmentally friendly producers and shops, we should also get to know ingredients and crops better. Although urban areas have no land, you can start with potted plants at home, green curtains, or vacant community lots, replacing ornamental flowers with vegetable growing, learning how crops grow, and beautifying the surroundings at the same time. The Homemakers United Foundation has partnered with Wenshan Community College to offer an introductory permaculture course in the community, hoping to invite interested community residents to join in, learn and grow vegetables together, and also meet the friends around us who share a concern for the food environment.
