"Faith X Cohesion X Inheritance X Industry" Documentary Photography Exhibition
As the broader environment changes, rural development faces a gradual outflow of population, and rural communities are now mostly home to older residents. In the years ahead, the wider society will have to confront an aging population. Before that aging society arrives, how can rural transformation enable the residents of rural communities to jointly build their own friendly homeland and friendly countryside?
On May 9 at 10 a.m., the "Faith X Cohesion X Inheritance X Industry" documentary photography exhibition was held at the Huaxing settlement of Huanan Community in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County. Presented outdoors, it constructs the relationship between people and the land; through the joint cooperation of the county government, the township office and the community, and with themes related to the community's religion, culture and industry, it faithfully presents what is relevant to Huanan Community through on-the-ground surveys and a side-recording process carried out by the Noah Cultural and Creative team. Liu Musong, section chief of the Urban and Rural Development Department of the Yunlin County Government, said that this time, with the transformation plan designed for the Yunlin County Government with support from the National Development Council, a simple and honest rural village can have many different appearances and different expressions, and it can also stimulate community discussion and jointly reflect on the friendly value of rural areas, which is quite valuable.
This photography exhibition takes soil as its starting point, the relationship and connection between soil and people, feeling the warmth of the land and the charm of industry, with the focus on the connection between people and the land; it preserves images of residents living earnestly, and through them lets everyone see community industries such as jabuticaba, jelly fig, banana, dancing lady orchid and so on, even though they play a decorative role.
But indirectly, we see the jelly fig grown by Mr. Yu Qingjian, the jabuticaba grown by Mr. Lin Qingchi, the bananas grown by Mr. Chen Benyuan, and the handmade steamed buns and brown sugar cake made by the community mothers' class. Besides showing the hospitality of Huanan Community, these snacks also show that Huanan Community is a place worth cherishing and beautiful.
