About Green Picture Books:

Do parents and teachers worry about how to share with children concepts such as "eat real food with fewer additives", "eating in season and climate change", and "land ethics and environmental citizenship"? For many years, the Homemakers United Environmental Protection Foundation has used picture books in places such as Taipei and Taichung to carry out environmental education and green food education. The pictures and text of picture books easily move children's hearts; by keeping close to the main theme of the picture book, promoters then bring in corresponding concepts of environment and green food education, cultivating children's concepts from an early age.

At the end of 2013, the Hsinchu Branch of the Homemakers United Cooperative introduced this set of environmental education methods into the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli area and trained promoters. The reach of promotion expanded from Hsinchu County and City to Taoyuan and Miaoli, with cumulative promotion reaching nearly five thousand person-times. Following the Foundation's "Green Food Education Partner School" model, they cooperate with school teachers to enter classes and share "A-Ping's Menu", leading children to understand the concept of eating real food with fewer additives; they share "The Trouble with Farting", to understand the relationship between diet and climate change; and in response to local issues, they introduce picture books related to water issues.

After the diversification of education, the urban-rural gap has also widened, and it is possible to go into more schools to promote, working together with school teachers and parents to flip concepts together. This is the greatest wish of Green Picture Book promoters, and we invite every family to join our ranks!
