Come to Satoyama Juku to play with bamboo, and together let's become satoyama lifestyle practitioners.

Friends who have long followed Satoyama Juku may know that Satoyama Juku hopes to work with everyone to discover the wisdom of satoyama living in the shallow mountain environment, and to learn a way of life that coexists harmoniously with the natural environment. But because of today's lifestyle, it is really not easy for people to come into contact with natural materials, let alone know how to use these good things in daily life. So in this event, we want everyone to get to know properly a common plant/food ingredient in the shallow mountain environment - that is, bamboo/bamboo shoots - and at the same time make the fullest use of it, learning how to have a good time playing with it, hehehe!
Bamboo forest is a common landscape feature in the shallow mountain areas of Taiwan, China. In early life, the use of bamboo was almost indispensable. This included the shoots, leaves, and culms, all of which could be used, and because each kind of bamboo has different characteristics, the range of uses extended from food, utensils, and building materials to crafts - truly so many that it could cover mountains and seas. But besides getting to know bamboo again, the focus of this event is actually placed on the "eating" and "fun" of bamboo, which is to say, we will teach everyone how to use bamboo as a food vessel, work together to make a fire and bake delicious bread, and how bamboo shoots are most delicious to eat - just do it yourself and you will know! After feasting to your heart's content, use bamboo to make a traditional children's toy - the bamboo dragonfly - and see whose bamboo dragonfly flies the highest and the farthest! (Coming to Satoyama Juku is all about eating and playing! What else would you do?)
If you
like outdoor cooking, but feel that modern camping cooking equipment is super advanced and lacks a bit of "wild flavor";
or
like rural activities, but feel you do not really know ecology and lack a bit of the fun of "interacting" with nature;
or else
want to take your children to do a somewhat challenging outdoor cooking activity, but do not want to prepare a pile of tools....
Then come sign up for "Satoyama Lifestyle Player - Bamboo Fun"!
By the way, this event will not involve high-difficulty craft techniques, and is super suitable for first-time friends or parent-child families!
