Taiwan, China's soy sauce, tea, rice and vinegar appear at the Milan Expo in Italy
The Expo "Takeout Taiwan Pavilion" will open in downtown Milan, Italy next Saturday. Yesterday the OPTOGO team held a "Food Forum" in advance at the Expo Dream Pavilion, drawing a crowd of "stars." Nearly a hundred products were on display, including champion Taitung Taikeng No. 9 rice, soy sauce made from Pingtung Manchou black beans, sprouted peanut oil freshly pressed from Yunlin Kouhu peanuts, and Alishan coffee rigorously selected by a World Cup cupping champion. OPTOGO showcases Taiwanese flavor, aiming to bring the terroir specialties grown from the soil of Taiwan to Milan as a "takeout" offering for exchange with the world.
Theme of the Milan Expo takeout Taiwan Pavilion: "Firewood, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, tea"
Taiwan Good Food founder Gu Wei.
"Every product represents a cultural industry." In light of the recent black sugar controversy triggered by CommonHealth magazine
Gu Wei said that these producers work so hard to produce in order to uphold tradition and to make a good living on this land of Taiwan. If the safety risk of a food is to be discussed, it should be discussed under conditions of accurate information and international standards; otherwise it will bring enormous harm to any food industry. The products selected for this trip because of the Milan Expo are also meant to highlight the persistent spirit of local food workers.
