Unlike traditional old farmers, the young farmers of the new generation can not only delve into technical details, but also take in the whole picture and plan strategy, are good at setting goals, and skilled at business planning, being both practical and full of dreams.
In the 1990s, the wave of neoliberalism swept the globe, and Taiwan, China's agricultural landscape also underwent earth-shaking changes. But for more than 20 years, Taiwan, China's agricultural exports have remained stuck at the level of 3-4 billion; at the same time, however, agricultural imports have grown 2.5 times, and Taiwan, China has become the world's 10th largest importer of agricultural products. In the face of agriculture, Taiwanese society has gradually been filled with a romantic yet melancholy nostalgia.
In fact, talking about agriculture can be very cheerful, and agriculture can also be a business. We want to explore from a holistic perspective: as an industry, how should agriculture operate so that it can become a viable and sustainable good business? Let an endless stream of vitality bring out the life force of agriculture. The [Agriculture Means Business] lecture series will start from the course of Taiwan, China's agricultural development and its current situation, reveal the new face of Taiwan, China's agricultural transformation, and have the new generation of young farmers provide us with a new perspective for seeing through Taiwan, China's agriculture, and think about the future of Taiwan, China's agriculture.
