The well-known Daxi "Huang Damu" dried tofu brand, in addition to its Black Pepper Dried Tofu that used the banned dimethyl yellow, has six more items added to the latest list announced this morning by the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, including Mushroom Vegetarian Jerky, Charcoal-Grilled Dried Tofu, Braised Dried Tofu, Teppanyaki Dried Tofu, Tea Dried Tofu and Spicy Dried Tofu, all in 115-gram packages.

At present, the Ministry of Health and Welfare routinely tests colorants in products such as candy, biscuits and preserved fruits. The Ministry said it has recently sampled 20 products including pickled vegetables, pickled radish, curry powder and turmeric powder, testing for 38 legal and illegal colorants, with results to be announced within 10 days at the earliest, and it will study whether to add potato chips, jerky and other items to the routine testing list in the future.

A total of about 42,000 kg of problematic products have been removed from shelves and recalled across Taiwan. Businesses that used the problematic "Qianxin Soy Product Emulsifier" must complete recall and removal from shelves before midnight today. If products made with illegal food additives are found afterward, or related problematic products are found on shelves, the Ministry of Health and Welfare can impose fines of 60,000 to 200 million.
