Lai Hsiao-fen, Secretary-General of the Homemakers United Foundation Environmental Protection Foundation, was invited by the Southern Food Education Group to give a talk on April 13 at the Southern Office on the "Food and Agricultural Education Legislation Education Forum," sharing the experience of the forum held earlier this year in Yilan. It is hoped that through this lecture, the Southern Food Education Group can be helped to continue promoting food and agricultural education, and further encourage local governments to enact related regulations.
The members of the Southern Food Education Group were convened by Professor Lin Chao-cheng, advisor to the National Alliance of Community Universities. The members include Zhang Jin-yu, director of Kaohsiung First Community University; Zhang Zheng-yang, director of Qimei Community University in Kaohsiung City; Guo Zhao-nan, director of Xinhua Community University in Tainan City; Huang Shen-zai, supervisor of the National Alliance of Community Universities; Liu Xiu-hui, director of Beimen Community University; and specialists from each school. Our foundation is represented by Wang Nan-chi, convener of the Kaohsiung Environmental Protection Group. Together they promote food and agricultural education in the south, hoping to hold a southern "Food and Agricultural Education Forum" this year, with related information shared with the public through the Facebook page "Southern Tomorrow's Dining Table."
Lai Hsiao-fen said she was optimistic about the Food and Agricultural Education Forum that the Southern Food Education Group will hold at the end of the year. Successfully enacting regulations for all units to implement would certainly be a good thing, but whether the practical operation and continuation can root the concept of food education in school education is still a part worth looking forward to and observing.
