How to Make Boiled Potatoes with Butter and Salt Flowers
In rural households in France, potatoes are an agricultural product that almost every family grows, and the annual potato harvest is also very large. Sometimes when you are driving along a small country road in France, you may unexpectedly notice that several households have corrugated cardboard boxes hanging at their doors with the words "selling home-grown potatoes" written on them. From this, you can see what an important ingredient potatoes are in every household in France.
Because of this, French potato dishes are too numerous to count!
A few days ago, I received potatoes and tomatoes sent by Bingda Organic Farm, a friendly, sustainably farmed organic farm in Hualien. When I opened the box, the potatoes inside really gave me a shock. There were even small mini potatoes like the ones I grow at home in France, as well as purple ones and large yellow ones.

Ingredients
Boiled Potatoes with Butter and Fleur de Sel, one serving
12 small potatoes
A pinch of fleur de sel, ground pepper
5 g salted or unsalted butter
Method
Scrub the potatoes clean, put them in a deep pot, add water to cover the potatoes, and add a small pinch of sea salt.
Boil over high heat for about 20 minutes until cooked. Insert a fork or knife into a potato; if it goes in easily and pierces through the potato, it is fully cooked.
Drain the potatoes, place them on a plate, sprinkle with sea salt and ground pepper, and while the potatoes are still hot, put a piece of butter on top.
Enjoy the potatoes with the butter, fleur de sel, and ground pepper. If you like fresh herbs, you can sprinkle on chopped fresh herbs.
Enjoy while hot.
