Little Darwin Science Investigation Camp Invites You to Become an Animal Detective
Anyone who studies biology cannot help but know Darwin. As a geologist, 180 years ago he boarded the HMS Beagle and set out from England, crossed the Atlantic, sailed around South America, then crossed the Pacific, rounded Africa by way of the Indian Ocean, and returned to England, completing a five-year voyage of exploration. On this journey of exploration, starting from his knowledge of geology, combining the fossils he collected locally with the plants and animals he observed, he deduced the foundational theory of modern evolutionary biology and wrote the book On the Origin of Species (On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life), discussing, on the basic assumptions of natural selection and the survival of the fittest, the process by which today's biodiversity came to be.
This summer, under the guidance of the big brothers and big sisters at the Shuangliu Nature Education Center, children will come into real contact with the environment, learn, and experience things firsthand, understand various ecological survey methods and acquire survey skills, letting children step into the environment, seek out all kinds of questions about every living thing, and, through fun experimental survey methods, become little Darwins exploring the flowery world of Shuangliu. In the realm of nature, set aside the textbook, and with a spirit of getting to the bottom of things, discover problems in the process of exploration, experience the wonders of nature, and get to know a dazzling array of life you have never seen before!
