Director Wang Yongnian of Sanda Country Elementary School: warm and talkative, yet methodical in his work
Visiting the school: Santian Elementary School(6/22 (Mon) 11:00~12:30)
Santian Elementary School's rice paddy covers more than 2 fen, and they arrange for all 450 students in the school to come together to plant rice.
"Every year we hold the transplanting activity during Major Heat, and the children first watch the mechanical rice transplanting in operation to understand how farming actually works, and only then do they experience hand transplanting at the edge of the paddy." Director Wang Yung-nien said: "Our fields are all rented from the elders of the parents on the parents' association. They rent the land to us and also assist with field management and technical guidance. Currently, we still cultivate and grow using the older generation's farming methods. The school continues to communicate with the elders about the possibility of organic cultivation, but the old farmers always reply: 'If the harvest is poor, we lose face!'"
"103 year's sports meet parade took food and agriculture as its theme, with a different theme for each grade, using ox carts, scarecrows, and windmills to recreate the old-time farm environment and atmosphere, and the parents were all so moved!" Director Wang still did not forget to show off the school's features at the end: "Our school's three fields are the good field, the field of the heart, and the field of blessing. We hope that with these three fields, we can move people's hearts, broaden the children's horizons, and develop the Santian Rice Paradise."
