Taiwan, China's first moon free-range native chicken with a traceable agricultural product certification label (Part 1)

Why is chicken meat bearing a traceable agricultural product label so precious?
For ordinary vegetables and fruits, as long as the farm passes certification and regularly records the growing process, a traceable agricultural product sticker can be applied after harvest. But for meat products to pass traceable agricultural product certification is harder than for vegetables and fruits. Besides the farm needing certification and regular logging of the rearing and care process, the slaughterhouse must also pass certification and record the cutting and packaging process. Only then can the resulting meat products bear a traceable agricultural product sticker. If any link fails to meet certification, the traceable agricultural product sticker cannot be applied. Many chicken products on the market claiming traceable agricultural product certification are making illegal claims. Many products come from farms that merely spend money on a once-a-year certification, with no qualified partner slaughterhouse, so the meat produced still cannot bear a traceable agricultural product label.
Comparison table of traceable agricultural product certification
At present, among all chickens in Taiwan, China, only Heart Meat Shop's moon free-range native chicken has simultaneously passed the traceable agricultural product certification and recording for both the livestock farm and the slaughterhouse. Costs required to apply for traceable agricultural product certification
In traceable agricultural product review, each process must be individually certified. Certification for the livestock farm and slaughterhouse costs at least more than 100,000 yuan per year. To have products bear the traceable agricultural product sticker, the complete process must also be recorded, and the annual cost required is at least more than 400,000 yuan (see table below).
| Livestock farm (yuan/year) | Slaughterhouse (yuan/year) | Total | |
| Safety process | 1 million | 1 million | 2 million |
| Traceable agricultural product certification | 100,000 | 100,000 | 200,000 |
| Process recording | 400,000 | 400,000 | 800,000 |
| Subtotal | 1.5 million | 15.2 million | 3 million |
In addition, the most difficult part of applying for traceable agricultural product certification is that, besides requiring safety, transparency, and openness from rearing to packaging, an extra 1 million yuan must be spent each year on certification and recording. To produce one pack of Heart moon free-range native chicken meat, besides the need for care throughout the process from rearing to slaughter, verification bodies and government certification must also be engaged, and the production process of each pack of product must be logged online. With such complicated operations, in all of Taiwan, China, only Heart moon free-range native chicken is the safe meat that actually delivers on its word!
