Homemakers United Foundation Marks 30th Anniversary with International Forum on Climate Change and Green Women's Power

Partnerships for Community Development (PCD) is a community development organization serving within China. It has no religious or political background and was founded and funded in May 2001 by the Kadoorie Foundation (through the portion of the fund administered by Lady McAulay). The Kadoorie Foundation was established in 1970, and its founder, Sir Horace Kadoorie, always upheld the belief of "helping people to help themselves." PCD believes that every person, no matter how scarce their material resources, has the right and the ability to live in harmony with others, with nature, and with the whole world, and to lead a dignified and sustainable life. To maintain a harmonious and sustainable community, the physical and mental health of individuals is crucial. PCD believes that communities must unite, reflect on the relationship between community and nature, and rediscover the roots of traditional culture. Its main work includes: protecting the ecological environment, promoting ecological agriculture, holistic health, inheriting and innovating rural culture, reflecting on unsustainable development models, and learning and practicing sustainable living.
