Green Cloud Sprout Production and Trading Reflect Market Rationality
I have about 70 pots of Green Cloud, with more than 150 heads. This year, 3 pots produced double dragons, a probability of 4.3%.Two pots produced autumn buds, a probability of 2.9%.Both pots that produced autumn buds were cases where buds emerged from the soil last autumn, and one of them was a Tongxin tissue-cultured Green Cloud.

1. The era when introduction seedlings dominated may become a thing of the past
In the early days of growing orchids, I often held the mindset of spending a little money to accomplish something big, and I was most enthusiastic about introduction seedlings.
Most consumers probably shared the same mindset as me, so a situation emerged in which large plants were hard to sell while weak plants were in demand.
But as the time spent growing orchids increased and my understanding of orchid nature deepened, I gradually discovered that buying introduction seedlings did not mean spending a little money to accomplish something big.
On the contrary, small amounts accumulated into a large sum, and in the end it turned into the awkward situation of spending a lot of money without accomplishing anything.
At present, in Green Cloud trading, premium seedlings are in demand, which shows that everyone has begun to change their thinking.
Perhaps the introduction seedlings bought earlier have already been played out, or perhaps after finally growing them to bloom, people found that it was only a fleeting illusion.
But regardless of the reason, it is an indisputable fact that everyone's thinking has begun to shift from seeking quantity to seeking quality.
2. Stories can fool the intellect but cannot deceive the senses
The term "old variety" has accompanied almost my entire journey of growing orchids, and to be honest, I have had this complex too.
For quite a long time, I found that several troubled plants, as long as they were labeled as original old varieties, became hot favorites.
If the story was exciting, there would surely be a crowd of responders, and waiting in line for years was also common.
But mental numbness is, after all, temporary.
When one wakes up and finds that what was enshrined like a treasure is actually only a half-dead thing, the emotions will eventually grow tired of it.
Deep down, people are pragmatic. One's own feelings are the most real and the least likely to deceive oneself.
So gradually one comes to feel that stories are merely seasoning; what truly brings enjoyment must be health, beauty, and harmony.
If everyone observes carefully now, those so-called "original old varieties" are ultimately less convincing than a pot of clean, healthy seedlings.
Mainstream consumers have already shifted from consuming stories to consuming seedling condition, and this is a manifestation of rationality.
3. The ultimate consumer market must still judge heroes by flower quality
The flower quality mentioned here is not equivalent to petal type, but is closer to "the expression of beauty," a comprehensive expression of overall feeling.
Cymbidium goeringii entered a trading trough for a long period, but those varieties with truly unique flower quality were never abandoned.
Recently, as the orchid market has warmed up, prices of some classic varieties have begun to strengthen, which is also an indisputable fact.
As for Green Cloud, in aspects such as color, fragrance, charm, rarity, and leaves, it can be said that no ancients saw it before and no successors will see it after.
Just as Senior Brother said: an indescribable heavenly charm, a world-shaking and peerless wonder flower......
It is precisely because of Green Cloud's unique quality that its own status in the field has been established. Although it has undergone repeated tissue culture, it is still in short supply.
